I like it a lot, John. I'm trying to get at a kind of stylistic difference I see between (broad strokes here) journalists and bloggers who don't work for a news organization. I see journalists as working very diligently to keep themselves out of the story, while bloggers are, for the most part, very definitely IN. That's what I'm trying to get at with "objectivity" and "authenticity," basically, that bloggers put themselves in the picture and many see this as a virtue (and can be a little righteous about it sometimes).

I agree that in the case of journalists and bloggers who are making a sincere attempt to record and transmit what's going on around them, that they share truth as a goal.
